While the Governor fiddlesDisorganized Musings on the Financial Crisis

Tip of the pen to Governor Patrick and Doug Rubin

The Governor has moved aggressively to limit the use of police details to work sites where they are needed. And he’s put the ball back in the court of municipalities to follow the same standard, a very aggressive step that I am surprised to see him take.

I publicly doubted the Governor’s will on this one, and his Chief of Staff, Doug Rubin, urged patience. Doug Rubin was right. I was wrong.

Here, here! It’s a bold move by the Governor and a great first step. Today, we avoid sniping on education and we hope that we will continue to see more in this line of transportation reforms.

But what I like most about this bold action by the Governor is that Poftak had to admit that he was wrong! That’s gubernatorial leadership! No one in this office has the power to bring Poftak to heel. (Admittedly, sometimes we stop listening.)

Yeah, and I was wrong, too…
