The Cost of Police Details

As a fan of the Dewey Square Farmers Market, I’ve been wondering when it will open. Its a modest little market (7 – 10 stands at most) that is attempting to make some use of the large (empty) plaza at Dewey Square created by the Big Dig.

Turns out the market has been canceled because of the cost of the police detail — $19,000 per year.
