As if Newton’s Mayor Cohen didn’t already have enough on his plate, what with the exploding price tag of the Newton North High School reconstruction and his ill-advised request for a raise.

Now the Newton Firefighters’ Union (which is without a contract) is advising voters to oppose the upcoming override of Prop. 2 1/2, saying:

Given the complete mismanagement of city finances, with no long term fiscal stability plan in sight, we can not support this override.
