Playing Rough in Fall River

Steve PoftakBy Steve Poftak

It is getting nasty in Fall River, and fast.

Newly elected Mayor Correia commissioned the State Auditor’s office to conduct an audit of the city’s books. It came back with some significant findings. (I’ve only just skimmed the audit and I’m in no position to comment on its content.)

Needless to say, the previous Mayor, Ed Lambert, is not pleased with the findings and has already fired back.

Mayor Correia has called for a major overhaul of the city’s budgeting and accounting, and has appointed a task force to address the issue.
