MassCityStats.org: our new online tool

Today, Pioneer is releasing a new tool that gives people in 14 cities accross Massachusetts access to all sorts of interesting data points about the performance of their municipal government.

Check it out! www.MassCityStats.org

With this tool, it is our intention to move away from the  “Gotcha” mentality that has prevailed in the transparency and accountability movement, to one of constructive dialogue and data-driven analysis.

With this tool, it is very easy to identify who is doing a good job in managing their city (or not) and who can serve as an innovative model for other urban centers that might be facing similar challenges.

MassCityStats is a powerful tool to keep citizens  informed and ensure greater accountability in municipal government.

I invite you personally to take a look at the website, play with it, and let us know what you think. There is a general e-mail on there- info@masscitystats.org- that I promise is tied to my personal e-mail, so you will receive a reply if you send us comments!
